One of my projects is photographing people wearing
animal masks. Before coming to Harold I am going to
purchase a bunch of masks. If you have a special
kinship with an animal and wouldn’t mind being
photographed wearing a mask, please e-mail me with a
response. I hope I can accommodate your request. My
local costume store has a pretty large collection, so
throw any suggestion out there. Also, if you aren’t
camera shy in general, please let me know because I
could use all the models I can get for other projects
involving photography. By the way, I will not
photograph anybody who’s spirit animal is the
salamander. My e-mail address:

A Minor Project: Spirit Animal
June 12, 2007 by haroldarts2007

What have you got against salamanders?
Your mask projects are pretty intriguing, I’m looking forward to them. Count me in for a cat if you’ll be at Harold week2.
I am an Eagle, if you don’t mind.
i’m a raven, and i love the camera, especially when i get to wear masks.
I share a certain bond with lions generally.
I guess I’m a turtle by default.
I would like to request the owl.
I am friends with all animals in the animal kingdom. I would rather a spirit animal be chosen for me, an interpretation, if you will.
If you have a tendency to encounter dead birds (of all kinds) (this hasn’t happened in a while but at one point was happening at least once a day) is your spirit animal something that kills birds or birds?
I have been told I’m a squirrel but I thought a spirit animal was more of a protector, than an embodiment of your own traits. Any advice?
PS. If you are looking for more masks I can get you a link to this place I encountered while working at the international man of leather convention. They were fairly amazing. Let me know.
Hi Thomas,
This sounds like a neat idea. My main spirit animal was already listed above by someone else, so for variety’s sake, I could be a whale or a flamingo.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Best,
Mary
I was thinking maybe something of the deer / elk variety for myself? Although that raccoon mask is rather enticing…
Considered me interested!
